Fearless 霍元甲
The story depicts a young and arrogant Kung Fu Master who only had one thing in mind, to be the best in fighter. After being staying undefeated, he earned fame and respect from everyone. Many came and ask to be he’s disciple. He had no test or what-so-ever criteria for he’s students. He ended up having lot’s of ‘rubbish’ students.
One of he’s diciples were injuried by another Martial Artiste, Master Chin . He killed him, at the cost of he’s mother and daughter’s life. To only realise that it was he’s disciple’s mistakes that led to the beat-up.
He broke down after realising his mistakes, and went into the country side to escape all his dreams. He then learned the true meaning of life and martial art, after spending a few years leading a simple life.
He went back to the city, and decides to enter the arena once again. At that time, China was humiliated by the Westerners, being ‘Sick Man of The East *correct me if im wrong* , and many man were killed by this Boxing Champion. He took up the challenge to uphold the honor of Chinese Martial Art, and more importantly, to show the world what’s the true meaning of Chinese Kung Fu.
He soon became famous again, and even set up the Chin Woo Atheletic Foundation – a martial art school. He was in the end set up by the evil Japanese, with he’s drink being poisoned. It was in a 4 to 1 match. The French, the Japs and two other foreign power each send their best fighter. It was at the last match went he took the drink, and found himself unable to compete.
He did not left the arena, as he realise he has no choice but to fight on. He gave his best, even capable of killing the Japanese opponent with that last strike of he’s. Honorably and wisely, he chose not to kill. He wanted the world to understand the meaning of Martial Art, and didn’t want to make the same mistake again.
His success was only possible due to the much needed financial help from he’s best friend.
This is a very entertaining story, something that doesn’t fly off from the ground. The director knows how to appeal to the viewers’ emotions. I think it’s a nice and touching show.
