The Styke’s Times

It’s A Beautiful Day

Posted in Thoughts by Styke on December 31, 2006

It’s the last day of 2006.

Many people are out there, ready to countdown and celebrate the new year, E.T.A 3 hours. I don’t know how much does a new year meant to them, but to me, it’s just another year. Is it really worth the time to celebrate, crowd around town, cheers with strangers?

Well, probably to them tomorrow’s a public holiday! No work! It’s the end of the year, bonuses! And probably because I’m not anticipating for anything tomorrow, because I’m bored now, because no one ask me out?

To me, it’s a good time to have a break, spend some good time with your loved ones, your friends and family. And maybe more importantly, do some soul searching. Are there any things that you can improve on? Things that you haven’t achieve, people that you didn’t communicate with and what not?

Next year, I’ll be serving my NS (National Service). As written, I’m categorised as PES (Physical Employment Status) C, that makes my life in there much different from what those in A & B would do. And it’s all due to my Pneumo Thorax incident. I hate that it happened, but it happened. Before then I look forward to a life of a normal NSMen, a chance of a life time to experience something different. A chance to tone up my physique. Can’t be done now, do more than that and I get a recurrence.

Graduation Day will be on 22nd of May. How will I fare? My 3 years of tertiary education all comes down to this day, will I be able to qualify for a university entrance? Did I achieve what I want? Will I be satisfied with what I get? All will be answered, 5 months down the road.

And how about a girlfriend? Is this the right time? Then again, can it withstand the time away from each other? And most importantly, have I found her? Answer is no. Sad!

I’ve come to realise, I do not have a dream set in my future. Let’s see, what had I planned. Served NS, go to a University with a degree in Computer Science/Media. Get a job, work for a few years, look for my career, steady? Settle down with a family. Even if I don’t get into a university, the path would stay about the same.

But don’t you realise something odd. I got nothing that I want to achieve? Where’s my dream. It seems like IT’S ALL LAID OUT FOR ME! Does that happen to you (as in the reader)?

A childhood dream: be an Astronaut, how silly!

It’s a new life, it’s a new day, it’s a new life, and I’m feeling good!

Slacking? Make It Fruitful Instead!

Posted in Thoughts by Styke on December 31, 2006

I’ve been slacking at home since, 27th December. Today is the 31st, which makes it 4 days of slacking. Boy, these four days seems like one whole week to me!

I’m just not those type of person that can stay home for more than 2 days! It bores me! No one’s at home in the afternoon, I’ve got nothing to do, I’ve got nothing to eat! I ought to set some objectives.

And they’re:

  • Learn more about CSS
  • Learn how to make WordPress/Textpattern Theme
  • Complete my Babarian character for D2: Lord of Destruction
  • Go for a swim/jog
  • How about cleaning up my room?

Well, seems like the first 2 are the ones that I’m more keen to do. Then there’s mum and dad, I can feel the strong intention of them wanting me to help out at their store. I don’t want and I won’t help out with any specific reasons! I know I sound like a nasty child here, but I just don’t like it there.

4th to 6th of January there’ll be Spinnovex. I’ve yet to receive news from Lee Kay Beng regarding when and where we should be at. And… I hope to receive the call from EA, I need a job badly. Guys, if you’re reading, do let me know if you have any job recommendations.
