The Styke’s Times

National InfoComm Scholarship

Posted in Scribblings by Styke on March 15, 2007

IDA called up to enquire about my academic and CCA records. I wasn’t confident, especially when she asked, “So have you got Diploma with Merit? Did you get Director’s Roll for every year?” Geez, of course I wish I got them all. I told her I only got it for the last semester and that the awards won’t be release till Graduation Ceremony, which is in May. Hopefully, it’ll be a pleasant surprise for me from SMIT.

When I signed up for NIS, I left the CCA fields empty. For those that know me since secondary, you know I was never an active person in my Secondary. What’s more, I never had an official CCA in poly too.

Now tell me, how is this going to help in the NIS appplication. Z!

It’s because of the email I received from NTU. I think my first choice I chose one of their ‘Flagship’ programmes. Here’s what they said:

We noted that you have applied for the following programme in NTU as first choice in the AY2007/08 admissions exercise:

Integrated NTU-Georgia Tech & B.Eng (CS) & MS (CS)

You may note that outstanding students may apply for the IDA’s National Infocomm Scholarship which covers the full tuition fees, living allowance, return airfare and medical insurance. The Scholarships are sponsored by infocomm companies such as IBM, Microsoft, Intel, Oracle, DBS and Starhub. To apply for the Scholarship, please apply using the following link before 23 March 2007

With the scholarship, then I would be able to afford the fees, else I think I’ll take the usual ones. AND that is, only if they accepted me in the first place. T_T”

One thing though, at least now I know my application is being processed.

Well, that’s really positive thinking. Hahaha, I think they call me is because I left my CCA Records blank. =P
