National InfoComm Scholarship
IDA called up to enquire about my academic and CCA records. I wasn’t confident, especially when she asked, “So have you got Diploma with Merit? Did you get Director’s Roll for every year?” Geez, of course I wish I got them all. I told her I only got it for the last semester and that the awards won’t be release till Graduation Ceremony, which is in May. Hopefully, it’ll be a pleasant surprise for me from SMIT.
When I signed up for NIS, I left the CCA fields empty. For those that know me since secondary, you know I was never an active person in my Secondary. What’s more, I never had an official CCA in poly too.
Now tell me, how is this going to help in the NIS appplication. Z!
It’s because of the email I received from NTU. I think my first choice I chose one of their ‘Flagship’ programmes. Here’s what they said:
We noted that you have applied for the following programme in NTU as first choice in the AY2007/08 admissions exercise:
Integrated NTU-Georgia Tech & B.Eng (CS) & MS (CS)
You may note that outstanding students may apply for the IDA’s National Infocomm Scholarship which covers the full tuition fees, living allowance, return airfare and medical insurance. The Scholarships are sponsored by infocomm companies such as IBM, Microsoft, Intel, Oracle, DBS and Starhub. To apply for the Scholarship, please apply using the following link before 23 March 2007
With the scholarship, then I would be able to afford the fees, else I think I’ll take the usual ones. AND that is, only if they accepted me in the first place. T_T”
One thing though, at least now I know my application is being processed.
Respect My Authority!
BEHOLD!!!If you’re interested to see what I’ve been testing in EA for four months, check out this game trailer in youtube.
The very next day, ‘汪妈妈’ (that’s how they addressed Billy’s mum) arrived at our office. It gives me the feeling like the emperor’s mother a.k.a ‘老佛爷‘ has arrived. They even print a poster that states, we welcome 汪妈妈 to our office, or something like that.
Pardon me, I think it’s really over exaggerating. Probably I’m not that 热情 to people.
Billy saw the site, he is satisfied with it. I’m glad. Of course, there are still some amendments that need to be make.
- Remove the flags in the language selection page.
- Add links that will hyper link to his site.
- Index of page should be related to how all these came about.
All done. Totally agree with the removal of the flags, didn’t thought of the sensitivity it’ll bring to certain people. Screw the other two, LOL!
Completed the newsletter template, made it super simple. Heh! Just can’t stand it when I have to write my own content in for the newsletter. My written chinese is so poor, I can’t even write proper sentences, let alone a newsletter.
What’s more, those phone calls, those mini tasks, just keep coming. It’s so irritating when you’re trying to type 300 email address into your address book and these flies just keep buzzing around your ears.
Valentine’s day is great! All the pretty girls are out! Spend the evening with my god bro and mum, had Pasta Mania and Rochor Bean Curd!
Been sleeping late these days, very tired.
Tomorrow there’ll be a ‘party’ for 老佛爷, well, at least a break off work.
Sok Peng, you look good in your heels. Hope all is good with the interview. =]
Mosquito 101 & Crap
My sis introduced me this food review blog, ieatishootipost. Check it out, it comes with nice photos and honest feedbacks on the food. If you don’t know what’s nice or what to eat, give it a read.
Mac & Me
I keep having this crave for a Mac. Don’t what’s fueling it, but I really really want to have a new com now. I don’t see why I have to deserve to use this P3 PC that runs on the stupid Windows XP. The world is forced to use lousy Windows when there’s much better OS compared to it. It spend so many years to work on an OS that have yet nothing much innovative to compete. Worst still, most of the PCs to date can’t fully utilise it’s features. Again, forcing people to purchase new computers.
Mosquito 101
I managed to kill 2 mosquitoes during the late evening. Here’s how I did it:
My sister bought those mosquito coil, I tried using them, but… hasn’t been that useful. I found the entry point of their invasion, the TOILET!
I decided that it would be most effective if I put the coils in the toilet and smoke those mosquitoes! We call it ‘Open and gas’ in SWAT4. Hahaha! I left it in the toilet (with the doors closed of course) for several hours.
I let some air in for a few minutes before I went for my bath. Just when I’m about to shower, one flew passed me. I stopped and wait for it to be within range again and tada! DEAD!
When you see them, don’t start going around clapping your hands. Else, you will lose your focus and can’t see where it’s going. Make sure you can reach it too. So it’s like, one hit KO!
Halfway through, I reached for my shampoo and another one flew by. Instinctively, I trap it with my palm ( yes one hand ), give it a hard shake, open up my palm and smack!
I know the above sounds a little childish, but I feel good killing those that made my sleepless nights.
To summarise:
- to smoke them, you need to be in a closed vicinity. this will make them more retarded
- you can still kill them with one hand. if it’s covered with, sticky stuff like shampoo or butter even better, it’ll just stick there. if not just grab it trap it with your palm and shake vigorously. It’ll disorient them. Throw them towards a wall and smack!
It’s impossible to avoid being detected by them, because they can detect CO2 and infrared emission. Avoid wearing dark colour does help.
Let me know if it does helps you in busting them. ROFL!
